How To Set Intentions For Your Life & Business

This is the second post of my intention and goal-setting series, where I walk you through how to release what has come before and get ready to start achieving massive goal success in the coming year (and months!) ahead.

How was your big breathe out? What’s bubbled up for you over the past few days?

With the past year gently released, it’s time to consider all parts of your life and create your intentions for the year to come.

Go grab your journal. You’ll also need a separate piece of paper.

My "Breathe-Out" Process For Self-Reflection & Goal Setting

Just before I wrapped up for the year, I spent a divine Sunday with one of my mentors, Rebecca Campbell, at her Spirited Urban Retreat.

Perched right on the beach, there was really nothing Urban about it, but it symbolized leaving our lives behind us to experience a BIG breathe out of a day to release the year that had been straight into the waves ahead of us.

For many of us, the past year was not an ‘easy’ year, but one of immense growth (it certainly was for me), and I knew it was important to take space to release that.

Mastering Your Inner Mean Girl With Melissa Ambrosini

Today I am super excited to celebrate the launch of Mastering your Mean Girl, the first book by my good friend and fellow health coach Melissa Ambrosini.

If anyone knows how to run a successful Health Coaching business it is Melissa, and when I interviewed her in celebration of her book launch I asked questions specific to growing your business – and how managing your inner mean girl is a KEY part of this.

It’s easy to look at ‘successful health coaches’ and think they had it ‘easy’ – but Melissa has had to master her own Mean Girl in growing her business just as you will have to do too.

4 Top Tips For Coming Up With Blog Post Ideas (For Health Coaches)

It can be something new Health Coaches haven’t considered: your website’s blog has huge potential when growing your successful health coaching business and be a very powerful tool to use as part of your marketing strategy.

It’s one of the best ways to connect with your target audience (aka Dream Clients), too.

Many of the new Health Coaches I work with put off blogging because they think they’re not good at writing, or, most often, because they just don’t know what to write about.

If you just don’t like writing, there are many ways you can get around it, such as using video, recipes and photos. You’ll also find that the more you write, the better you get at it!

The easiest way to start each blog post is to pick a BIG subject and then break it down into 5 sub-headings that you can flesh out. In no time you have a great piece of content to put up on your blog.

Are You Ready To Take A Leap Of Faith In Your Health Coaching Business (Amber’s Story)

Sometimes life takes you to places you couldn’t possibly plan for. The key is to TRUST that everything is working in your favour and that it is all going to be okay.

I want to tell you Amber’s story, because it speaks to that side of all of us, I think, who want to live and work in an exotic place; doing what we absolutely love, and changing lives.

When I last caught up with Amber, she looked radiant in a sundress and a frangipani flower in her hair. The backdrop I could see behind her looked serene, tranquil, and, well, like she was Skyping in from a tropical island... and that's because she was!

10 Email Subject Line Strategies To Get More Opens

There’s no failsafe rule for writing email subject lines that convert people on your list into paying clients. But there are a few guidelines you can follow to get your emails opened and read more often.

When Mailchimp conducted a study on email subject lines (they’re continually monitoring what works and what doesn’t), they concluded that short, descriptive subject lines do way better than “splashy or cheesy phrases” (their words). You can view their email subject line best practices HERE.

Email Marketing is very much about testing and measuring, so experiment with different subject lines and see what works. If one is a dismal failure, it will at least give you an idea of what’s NOT working. There’s no right or wrong.

How Important Is Target Market Really?

Working out your target market is one of the essentials I cover in my UPswing Mastermind Program. In fact, it’s where we start off.

Every decision you make in your business relies on the intimate knowledge of WHO YOU WANT TO SERVE – knowing who they are, what they love, what keeps them up at night, what they’re eating, reading, watching.

Andrea came into the Upswing Mastermind with her health coaching hat on after recently graduating from IIN Health Coaching School.

She had 2 clients, but says she just didn’t know what she was doing. She had put in work to launch her website, but hadn’t spent a great deal of time defining her target market.

The Simple Secret to Telling People What You Do As a Health Coach

Have you ever wondered how to tell people what you do as a health coach?

It’s the question most new Health Coaches dread: “So what do you actually do?” How do you go about explaining what it is that you do?

In some circles your answer would be called your 'elevator pitch' - an explanation of what you do that could be shared in a quick elevator ride.

The natural answer that springs to mind when someone asks about “you” is to come back with “I am”.

Simple Colada Green Smoothie

My wonderful friends Jadah Sellner and Jen Hansard have an amazing book, Simple Green Smoothies and today I’m sharing my favourite recipe with you!

As health coaches, we know that green smoothies can replace almost every meal, but one of the genius ideas from the book is that we can also create healthy cocktails.

My all-time favourite cocktail is a Pina Colada, and whilst I only have these as an occasional treat these days, my eyes lit up when I saw this healthy Simple Colada in the book and Jadah and Jen have generously allowed me to share this recipe with you today!
