Hey gorgeous ones!

Today on the blog, we’re talking online videos and how you can use them to absolutely CRUSH IT on social media!

Do you ever spend hours going down a YouTube rabbit hole, consuming video after video after video? Well, you’re not the only one — YouTube is actually the second most popular website in the world, right after Facebook.

Aside from YouTube, online videos are also popular across Instagram, Twitter, Vimeo, TikTok, Snapchat, and video is also HUGE on Facebook itself.

So, with so many people engaging with online videos EVERY SINGLE DAY there’s a great opportunity to get more attention for your health coaching business!

How Important is Online Video?

It’s crazy important! Here are some numbers to give you an idea of the reach you could tap into:

  • People watching videos online is around 80% of ALL internet traffic

  • 500 million hours’ worth of content is watched on YouTube daily

  • People retain around 95% of key messages from videos and only 10% from text

And it’s effective, too:

  • Videos on social media are 1200% more likely to be shared than both text and images combined!

  • Videos on Facebook pages increase user engagement by 33%!

  • Embedded videos on websites can increase traffic by up to 50% and landing page conversion by 80%!

So, now that you’re convinced (I’m sure) that video content can help you lift your social media game as a health coach, let’s look at how!  🙂

How To Crush It On Social Media With Engaging Video Content

1. Know Your Audience

Whether your niche is health coaching or any other area, video content speaks.

Know your audience and target your content to them.

Use the platforms that your clients use. Instagram is UH-MAZING, as I’ve told you before  — but don’t limit yourself to one platform, go where your audience is!

It may be that you use a combination of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok and more.

It’s also important to tweak audience targeting options for each video you post, depending on the specific content it contains.

2. Videos Should Be Short and Accessible

Make sure your video content is short and intriguing — in the social media landscape, you need to capture people’s attention quickly. Videos that get the most attention are generally less than two minutes.

So, keep your videos simple and stylish to maximise views and shares. And make use of a clever call-to-action at the end of your video to encourage people to engage, whether that means liking, sharing, commenting, or checking out your site!

3. Optimise Videos for Mobile and Facebook

We love our mobile phones and tablets, and about 50% of the videos watched online are watched on a mobile device. So, keep your content mobile-friendly! 😉

On Facebook, video is automatically muted. That means your video should be able to get its message across without sound by using sub-titles and graphics.

It’s worth the extra effort, especially when Facebook ads including video are 100% more effective than those without!

4. Utilise YouTube

As a search engine, YouTube is second only to Google. YouTube is one of the best ways to get great results with your videos.

Consider using YouTube for information-rich videos, exercise demonstrations, instructional videos, webinars, and to showcase exciting events coming up for your business!

5. Send Videos to Your Followers

Personalised video content sent to your existing clients or online audience allows you maximum engagement with your followers.

Just the word ‘video’ in the subject line increases click-throughs by 13%!

This personal touch allows you to create a connection with your viewers in a very direct way and keep them engaged. When those followers share that video content, you’ll increase your organic reach further.

6. Instagram and Snapchat Stories ✨

Instagram and Snapchat stories are another great way to make a connection with your people.

Videos you post as stories will disappear after 24 hours and they have no share or like buttons, so make sure they are fun and attention-grabbing.

The idea here is to create organic buzz and interest in your brand while making real connections with people who care about health and nutrition just like you do! 💗

Reap the Rewards

Traffic from videos has proven to be one of the most effective lead generation techniques online. Quality content can be created easily and on the cheap, so this is a great way to make a big impact with a small budget!

Famous low-budget video content campaigns that have crushed it on social media include Wren Studios First Kiss, Squatty Potty (this one is as hilarious as it is gross!), and The Dollar Shave Club videos.

So, now that you know what to do, start making some videos. You’ll be able to make new connections with people, grow your health coaching business, and have a lot of fun doing it!
